Don?t Replace That Old Water Heater So Soon!
Your family needs your water heater to run at optimum levels (without failing) every day. Showers, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes – water heaters are the heart of your home. We can assess your water heater to see if a repair is all it needs. If your water heater has passed its prime though, today?s efficient and dependable water heaters (installed by our experienced engineers) will bring you decades of comfort and convenience.
Flushing Of The Tank To Remove Sediment
A popping or rumbling sound coming from your water heater may be a sign of excessive sediment buildup in your water tank. It?s the sound of steam bubbles percolating up through the gunk that has accumulated in the tank. Sediment in a gas tank can create hot spots that can damage the tank and cause it to fail. On an electric water heater, sediment can cause the lower heating element to fail too.
A service call to an Express Pros engineer is all that it takes to get that money (and energy) draining material out of your water tank, and out of your water system. If you?ve never had your tank flushed you?ll be amazed at the difference in performance this fix can give you.
Check Your T And P (Temperature And Pressure) Relief Valve
The majority of work on a water heater should be completed by a licensed technician. There is one check that you can do periodically though that is easy and can be a valuable tool in your homeowner’s arsenal.
The T&P valve on your hot water tank is a small faucet type piece about a third of the way up your tank. The T&P valve ensures your tank does not get too hot or over pressurized. Make sure the valve will allow water to run through it by opening and closing the valve a few times. If water runs through while its open, and stops when it?s closed you should be OK. If no water comes out when it is open, or water continues to leak out when the T&P valve is closed, call us immediately, we?ll be over to replace it and get your home safe again.
